Managing Your Vinst Account
How to change your email, manage your sign-in methods, sign out, or delete your account — all from one page.
Top 5 questions people ask
How do I change my email address myself?
You don't need to contact support — click "Change Email" on your Account page and follow the steps. (See Changing your email address below.)
How do I delete my account?
Go to the Danger Zone at the bottom of your Account page and click "Delete account." (See Deleting your account below.)
How do I remove my Google or Apple sign-in?
From your Account page's Sign-in methods section, click "Remove" next to it — as long as you also have a password set and a verified email. (See Managing your sign-in methods below.)
I signed up with Google — can I set a password too?
Yes — this happens as part of the Change Email flow, even if you don't actually want to change your email. (See Managing your sign-in methods below.)
How do I sign out?
Click your account icon in the top corner, then "Sign out." (See Signing out below.)
Looking to reset a forgotten password or verify your email instead? Head to Signing In to Vinst.
Everything below starts from your Account page — reach it any time from the account menu in the corner of the app.
Changing your email address
Click "Change Email" under your email address, enter the new one, and click Continue.
Depending on your account, you may be asked to:
- Re-enter your password to confirm it's really you (if you haven't signed in recently).
- Create a password first, if you originally signed up with Google or Apple only.
- Keep or remove your Google/Apple sign-in, if you have one.
Either way, your email doesn't actually change yet — we send a confirmation link to the new address, and your old email keeps working until you click it.
💡 Didn't finish the flow? Any password you created or sign-in method you removed along the way stays in effect even if you never click the confirmation link — only the email swap itself waits on that click.
Managing your sign-in methods
Your Account page lists every way you can sign in — email/password, Google, Apple — under "Sign-in methods." Next to each linked Google or Apple account, you'll find a "Remove" button.
📌 Removing is only allowed if it's safe to. Vinst won't let you remove your last sign-in method — you'll need a password set (and your email verified) before you can remove a Google or Apple sign-in, so you're never locked out.
💡 Don't have a password yet? There's no dedicated "set a password" button on this page yet — go through Change Email instead (above) and choose to create one there, even if you don't want to actually change your email.
💡 Want to add a new Google or Apple sign-in? There's no "add" button for this either — just sign in with that Google/Apple account once, and it links automatically.
Signing out
Click your account icon in the top corner, then "Sign out." No confirmation needed — you're signed out instantly and stay on the same page.
Deleting your account
At the bottom of your Account page, under Danger Zone, click "Delete account." Type delete to confirm, then click "Delete account" again.
📌 This is permanent. Your cookbooks, recipes, and uploaded content are removed and cannot be recovered. If you'd rather talk it through first, reach out to support before deleting.
If you haven't signed in recently, you may be asked to sign in again first — this just confirms it's really you before something this permanent happens.
More questions
Can I add a new sign-in method without removing my current one?
Yes — adding a Google/Apple sign-in (by signing in with it once) and setting a password (via Change Email) don't require removing anything else first.
Does deleting my account affect a cookbook I already ordered and printed?
Your account, cookbooks, and saved content are removed right away. If you have questions about an order already placed, reach out to info@vinst.me before deleting so we can help.
